Chasing the few minutes each day when the light breaks over the ridges, the fog fills the valleys, and the lakes catch fire. These are the mountains of Western North Carolina, seen from above.

Dee-Shannan Hurt
Eye-Con Photography is the work of Dee-Shannan Hurt, a landscape and aerial photographer based in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
Most of these images start in the dark: an early alarm, a drive up the mountain, and a long wait for the sky to decide what it will do. The reward is a morning like no other, with fog pouring through the valleys, light spilling over the ridges, and lakes turning gold.
